About the author and illustrator:

Rossina Boyer was born in Peru and immigrated to the United States with her mom and sisters after 8 long years of being separated from her dad. She has been honored as a leader in her local community for fundraising for migrant children. She is a board member of the non-profit dance organization Ballet Folklorico Raices del Peru, where she has devoted time for 19 years. She is now an accomplished abstract artist and writer, and divides her time between the United States and Peru.
